Metadata Cleaner removes what your files hide
Metadata Cleaner shows the location and other hidden data inside photos, videos and PDFs, and strips it on your device before you share.
On 4 August 2026, Metadata Cleaner reached the App Store. Photos carry the GPS location where they were taken, the date and the camera model. Videos carry the coordinates where they were filmed, and PDFs can carry the author's name and the app that made them.
Metadata Cleaner shows you exactly what a file hides, flags the sensitive fields and strips them all in one tap. Your original is never changed, because cleaning always works on a copy. It all happens on your device, and your files are never uploaded.
It is free to download. A one-time Pro purchase adds batch cleaning, field-by-field control over what to keep and a share sheet extension that cleans a file on its way out.
Our other privacy apps are on the utilities page.
